A PHOTO of Altantuya Shaariibuu with Razak Baginda and a minister was also shown to another cousin of the slain Mongolian model, the Shah Alam High Court heard today.

Namiraa Gerelmaa, testifying in the RM100 million civil suit the family of the Mongolian filed against the Malaysian government, said she was shown the picture during a trip to Malaysia in October 2006.

At the time, Altantuya was seeking payment from Razak for her purported translation work in a deal to buy submarines for the Royal Malaysian Navy.

Razak was adviser to Najib Razak at the time he was deputy prime minister.

Namiraa’s grandfather is the older brother of Altantuya’s grandmother. Also joining the trip was Altantuya’s friend, Uuriintuya Gal-Ochir, Namiraa said.

Namiraa said she was shown the picture in Kuala Lumpur, where Razak was identified by Altantuya as a her lover and a second man identified as “Najib” by Altantuya.

“When Altantuya was telling Uuriintuya and me about Razak Baginda, she showed us a photograph of herself, Razak Baginda and another elderly man with white hair. She pointed out Razak Baginda. She said his full name was Abdul Razak Baginda. We both said he was a good-looking man.”

On the second man, she said: “I don’t remember the full name. I remember she said he was a minister. Altantuya took this picture out of her handbag and she put it back into her handbag.”

Namiraa, a 35-year-old mother of four residing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, did not produce the photo in court today.

Another cousin of Altantuya, Burmaa Oyunchimeg testified last week that she was shown a photo in Mongolia by Altantuya, where the latter posed with Razak and another senior politician who also went by the name “Razak”.

Today, Namira joined Burmaa in denying that another widely circulated photo of the two men with another woman, was the photo shown to them.

Namiraa said Uuriintuya was also shown the photo by Altantuya before the photo was placed in her handbag.

“She had this handbag with her all the time,” she said, adding that the three women were staying at Malaya Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Namiraa said that Altantuya wanted to be compensated for her translation work and that was the purpose of the trip to Malaysia.

“She told me that the ‘Malaysian side’ was going to purchase submarines from the Russians and the meeting was held in France. She said that Razak Baginda wanted her to translate from English to Russian and vice versa for that meeting. She told me there was an agreement.”

During the trip, Namiraa testified that the three women went to Razak Baginda’s office several times and that they were subsequently harassed by Razak’s men, identified as Bala and his “thinner, taller” associate, Suras Kumar.

Namiraa testified that the two men followed them later as they left the hotel for a meal and never left.

“Yes, yes we saw them every single day. They were always outside our hotel. We went to the same office building a few times, and they were waitingn for us there. They followed us everywhere.

Namiraa said both men forced their way into their hotel room after they responded to a door knock. Suras allegedly told Altantuya, “Do you want to see how you fall down from the 8th floor if we throw you out?” before laughing.

Suras returned the following day and told Altantuya that the lives of the three women were in danger if they did not return to Mongolia. After attempting to forward a request by Altantuya to Razak to meet him, Suras said ‘there was no response from Razak Baginda, he does not want to meet with Altantuya, he was a ‘big’ man, a wealthy man, he can make you disappear where nobody can find you. Now all of you are dead.’

After another attempt to make contact the following day, Namiraa said Altantuya said, ‘Razak Baginda will now see her’.

It was the night Altantuya went missing. Police investigation later revealed that she was killed on October 18, 2006 and her body was blown with C4 explosives. – January 30, 2019.
