Bureau meetings waste of time since disagreements with Azmin, says Rafizi

PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli says he stopped attending bureau meetings because to avoid a prolonged disagreement within the political bureau, which will disrupt the party’s preparations for the general election. – The Malaysian Insight pic, August 29, 2017.

PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has laughed off a party colleague’s accusation that he was paid to cause trouble in the party, saying he had stopped attending the party’s bureau meetings which were a waste of time following several disagreements with party deputy president Azmin Ali.

“I have decided to not attend the political bureau meeting since August 2016, after it is clear that a prolonged disagreement in the political bureau will disrupt the party’s preparation ahead of GE14,” he said in a statement today.

He said two incidents had led him to make the decision, the three-cornered fights in Sarawak election and delays in registering Pakatan Harapan in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections, which had  caused him to issue a circular to mobilise the party machinery to help Amanah and DAP.

He said since the imprisonment of de facto PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim, the political bureau had had a hard time coming to agreement .

“The situation is getting worse, especially on sensitive issues like working with PAS as it involves the Selangor government. Because of the deputy president’s wish to keep the door open for PAS until the last minute to ensure victory in Selangor, any moves deemed not favouring PAS will be rejected,” he said, adding that the decision to form Pakatan Harapan had deepened the differences between him and Azmin.

PKR central leadership council member Latheefa Koya took to Facebook yesterday to launch an attack on a senior party member whose main aim was to cause a split in the party.  – August 29, 2017.

Traitor!
