THE turmoil in PKR has worsened with the sacking of Kelantan Youth chief Mohd Hafidz Rizal Amran via WhatsApp today.

Hafidz received the message from the party’s Youth chief, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, this morning.

“I received a WhatsApp message from Nik Nazmi at 9.08am, stating that I’ve been sacked with immediate effect from the post of Kelantan Youth chief. I will issue a statement soon,” he wrote on Facebook.

The matter was confirmed by Nik Nazmi with The Malaysian Insight.

“The party’s Kelantan Youth chief will be replaced.

“The decision was made following a meeting between the central and state PKR Youth, which was attended by my deputy, Dr Afif Bahardin.”

He said Kelantan PKR chairman Ab Aziz Ab Kadir had been informed of the matter.

“The new state Youth chief will be announced soon,” said Nik Nazmi, who is also a Selangor state exco.

Conflict within PKR mounted when vice-president Rafizi Ramli said a special congress had to be formed immediately to resolves issues between PAS and the PKR-led Selangor government.

He said differences over the matter – whether to cooperate with PAS to maintain control of Selangor – had split the party and caused confusion among grassroots supporters. – August 28, 2017.
