TUNKU Ismail Sultan Ibrahim today told Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman to “save your sucking up for other people”, after the youth and sports minister tweeted birthday wishes to the Johor crown prince’s brother.

Tunku Ismail, in a tweet, also called on Syed Saddiq to “leave my family alone”.

“Please… do what you want. Just leave my family alone and save your sucking up for other people.”

Syed Saddiq tweeted on Monday: “Happy Birthday, Tunku Idris. Patik will always pray for Tunku and Tunku’s family’s well-being.”

To a Twitter user’s question if they could wish happy birthday to Tunku Idris, who is the Tunku Temenggong of Johor, Tunku Ismail said: “For you guys, anytime. Ikhlas (Sincerely). No hidden agenda.”

This is not the first time that the Johor crown prince has taken aim at Syed Saddiq on social media.

In October, he said the minister is too young to understand Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Responding to a statement by Syed Saddiq on Facebook, in which he praised Dr Mahathir as a “perfectionist”, Tunku Ismail tweeted: “Perfectionist? It’s either you’re delusional or obsessed.”

Syed Saddiq previously dismissed claims that the prime minister’s speech at this year’s United Nations General Assembly was scripted.

The 26-year-old is the youngest member of the Pakatan Harapan cabinet.

Apart from Syed Saddiq, Dr Mahathir, too, has been criticised by Tunku Ismail. – December 26, 2018.

  • How does TJM know Syed Saddiq's birthday wishes and prayers are insincere? Is Syed Saddiq seen as a proxy of Tun? What is Syed Saddiq's real agenda behind the birthday greeting to Tunku Idris?

  • I guess bad blood between the johore palace and tun will never end and the impact it has towards this prince in particular, having said that one must also remember how did the feud came about unless you are too young to remember the incident.
