PAKATAN Harapan leaders are courting trouble for the pact with their public spats, cautioned Bersatu strategist Rais Hussin Mohamed Ariff.
In a series of tweets today, Rais called on his party men and those in the PH pact to set aside their egos.
He said PH leaders should be focusing on serving the people.
“The ongoing spats and friendly fire among Harapan coalition can be disastrous. Of course, we can differ in views, it must be celebrated, but pointing and launching missiles at each other is audaciously puerile!” he tweeted.
Rais said PH politicians should enter an “ego-free zone” and deal with the real issues facing the country.
“Yes, ego-free zone! Show strength and vigour in addressing the real problems faced by the people, not accentuating self for self!” he said in his tweet.
His reminder came following a week of public sniping between pact members over a series of issues.
Rais’ fellow party man and Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has had a series of exchanges with Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy over P Waytha Moorthy and Bersatu Youth’s call for him to quit government over his handling of the Seafield Sri Mahamariamman temple riots.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s Bersatu lieutenant Khairuddin Abu Hassan also fired shots at Kedah PKR chief Johari Abdul.
Johari had said the Bersatu chairman did not know how to deal with the country’s troubles after toppling former prime minister Najib Razak.
Khairuddin shot back, saying moves were being made behind the scenes to remove Dr Mahathir from office. – December 22, 2018.
