SOME 12 Sabah PKR division heads, including state chief Christina Liew, have asked Nurul Izzah Anwar to reconsider her decision to resign from all her party posts.

They said Nurul Izzah inspired the younger generation and women in the country to excel in whatever they did.

“She is a well-respected and loved politician. Just look at the number of majority votes she gained in Permatang Pauh in the election.

“She got the most votes in the country,” said Putatan MP and Putatan PKR division head Awang Husairi Sahari during a press conference to explain the leadership crisis in Sabah PKR.

Liew said she was caught by surprise by Nurul Izzah’s decision, saying the Permatang Pauh MP texted her last night, saying “take good care of Sabah” as if she was leaving the party.

Nurul, who is the eldest daughter of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, also relinquished her new appointment as the party’s vice-president, Penang chairman, and her other federal government appointments, including chairman of the special task force for the problem-riddled technical and vocational education training. – December 19, 2018.
