PAKATAN Harapan must meet and discuss accepting Umno elected representatives into its fold, says DAP’s Gobind Singh Deo.

Gobind, who is deputy chairman, said the matter must be discussed immediately.

“This matter of BN elected representatives must be discussed thoroughly and carefully. The people’s mandate must be respected,” he said in a statement today.

He also said the party will not work with Umno following reports that the Malay party was working to enter government through a pact with PKR and the DAP.

“DAP will not work with Umno. Period. They have opposed us in the 14th general election and we have asked the people to reject them to build a new Malaysia.

“Now we should not be working with them,” he said.

Yesterday, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the party will work with PAS to achieve the Islamic agenda but not DAP, as pressure mount for him to quit after reports that the Malay party was looking to get back into government as an ally with PKR and DAP.

Zahid said he will not bow to pressure from anyone in the party and reminded members that only a special assembly could remove him from his post.

Umno has been bleeding elected representatives since GE14.

Last week 11 MPs, nine assemblymen, two senators dumped the party to become independents.

All of them are said to be planning to join PH member Bersatu sometime in the future.

However, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin said it will only accept individuals from the opposition if they are cleared of past wrongdoings and acknowledge their mistake in supporting the previous Barisan Nasional government.

In a statement, the home minister also stressed that Bersatu is not obliged to offer any post to any defector, should they receive membership.

He said that Umno lawmakers who are considering joining Bersatu will be put through the same membership screening process as any other.

The Puchong MP said the PH must give priority to the reform agenda which was a cornerstone of its campaign.

“PH must take care of the people’s interest that have place their faith in the PH to clean and save Malaysia,” he said. – December 16, 2018.

  • Exactly. The problem with UMNO was not just about our problems with Najib Razak. Those in UMNO have shown to be racists bigots, corrupt to the core and whos purpose is solely to enrich themselves. Mahathir can say not everyone is bad in UMNO but bringing them in to the new Government would not help us the people, have trust in what goes on behind closed doors. We would just see it now as same old. Same old

  • Three Stages of Demonic Possession
There are three generally accepted stages of demonic possession. While there is some overlap between the stages, there are distinct features in each stage. As the demon works its way into its host, it slowly takes control of the vessel.

The three stages of possession are:

    1) Manifestation and Infestation
    2) Oppression
    3) Full Possession

    We are at stage 1.

  • The REFORM AGENDA is what all umno defactors must sign as ONE OF THE REQUIREMENTS to enter the PH fold.. before they can be admitted to the party of their choice/selection.
They must be debriefed and cleansed thoroughly and put on a years probation because they have with them decades and decades of umno ideologies imbedded in them! It cant end overnight.

  • Accepting Bersatu into PH was hard but it was necessary. Bersatu UMNO is still strong but they did abandon UMNO before GE14 and battle alongside PKR, DAP and Amanah during the GE. Accepting UMNO defectors goes against the principles that we stand for. Acceptance should be the exception rather than rule. Only the selected few can be considered and that must be with the agreement of the Council of Presidents
Being MPs should not mean automatic acceptance. Those who were part of Najibs cabinet or BN state government must be scrutinized thoroughly. We can forgive but we will never forget. And the last thing that we want to do is to accept spineless and shameless leaders who jump the ship first at the first sign of rocky waters

  • Indeed, some suggestions, please discuss:
-is PH so desperate as to accept hyenas that kissed the behinds of kleptocrats then bolt once the gravy train runs dry?
-why not make them prove their worth first, try only then buy...like how we are sold the sell then build model by housing developers here, why the rush to give these unprincipled vagabonds a new home?
    - looks like PH plus Kataks will soon form two third majority, so no more back pedalling PH! Law reforms need no budgets, time to push through those much promised reforms!

  • For the cleansing of kataks ceremony, i suggest a full body clorox bath blessing, or the walk barefoot across hot coal soul-search experience...they get to choose which.
