MACC raids Mentri Besar Inc, Unisel and its contractor


THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is currently raiding Universiti Selangor (Unisel), Mentri Besar Incorporated (MBI) and Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd.

According to The Star Online, MACC is believed to be acting on a report lodged against Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali and MBI over a dispute between Unisel and its contractor Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd.

It was reported that Jana Niaga allegedly received monetary compensation and a new contract from Unisel, despite failing to complete a previous contract.

The report said that six MACC officers had arrived at the Unisel campus in Section 7 Shah Alam at around 9.50am in two vehicles.

MBI and Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd were simultaneously raided.

At the Jana Niaga office in Kuala Lumpur, four MACC officers were reported to have arrived at 10.25am, according to The Star Online.

Azmin is currently on an investment mission in Europe, according to strategic communications director Yin Shao Loong.

Yin said the investment mission kicked off in Zurich with a group of delegates from Invest Selangor.

The Europe mission began yesterday and will end on Friday. – August 22, 2017.
