MUHAMMAD Adib Mohd Kassim, the firefighter who was seriously injured after being attacked in a riot at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in USJ25, Subang Jaya on November 27, is in critical condition despite being earlier described as being in stable condition.

Fire and Rescue Department director-general Muhammad Hamdan Wahid said Adib was still relying on machines to keep his organs stable.

‘’Although we described his situation as stable, he is still critical. (Specialist treatment and the use of machines) will still be needed for a certain period of time.

‘’Visitors are not permitted for the next one or two days, depending on the advice of his doctors. His spirit is strong and we hope to see positive signs,’’ he said after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the department and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Shah Alam today.

He also said Adib was able to write to communicate, which was a positive sign of his improving health.

He said it was also hoped that the fireman would be able to communicate to the authorities his version of the incident. – Bernama, December 13, 2018.
