FORMER Sabah Umno leader and Sukau assemblyman Saddi Abdul Rahman announced today that he join Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).

Saddi had left Sabah Umno on August 1 to become an independent rep.

“I support any party that fights for the Malaysia Agreement 1963, state rights and fair distribution of oil royalties,” he said at a press conference in Kota Kinabalu today.

Saddi said he will hand over his Warisan membership form to party president Shafie Apdal tomorrow.

In the 14th general election, Saddi retained his seat with a 1,628-vote majority, beating Warisan’s Ismail Ayub.

Sabah Umno now has only 11 assemblymen, leaving the Barisan Nasional pact with only 19 reps in the state.

The ruling parties have 35 assemblymen, with 21 from Warisan, United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (4), DAP (6), PKR (2) and two Umno defectors, who crossed over on May 10. – December 10, 2018.
