THE police have arrested another four people in connection with the riots at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Subang Jaya on November 26, bringing the total number of suspects in the case to 106 people as at 8am today.
Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said apart from that, seven of the 66 individuals wanted by the police in connection with the case had surrendered and given their statements to facilitate investigation.
On whether the police had recorded a statement from firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, 24, who was severely injured during the riot, Fuzi said the police had yet to do so as the firefighter had not fully recovered from his injuries.
“InsyaAllah, we will record his statement when he has recovered,” he said at the Bukit Aman Mosque today.
Fuzi said a task force, led by Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd, had been set up to investigate the attack on Adib.
The investigation was being jointly carried out by the Bukit Aman and Selangor CID, he added. – Bernama, December 8, 2018.
