FORMER auditor-general Ambrin Buang gave his full cooperation during the proceedings on investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal, said Public Accounts Committee chairman Ronald Kiandee.
He said the alleged tampering of the 1MDB audit report was discussed during the questioning session with Ambrin.
Kiandee said the investigation will resume at 2.30pm today.
He said the committee cannot give out the details of the investigations, saying only that it revolves around the alleged amendments made on the report.
“We cannot give the details but the content of the discussion, the statements and the questions were based on the title of the investigation which is whether it (the report) was amended or not,” he added.
Kiandee also said the committee, which consists of several lawyers, are investigating whether there were any changes made on the report.

On October 30, Ambrin had denied allegations by PAC deputy chairman Wong Kah Woh that the final 1MDB audit report was amended.
Ambrin was supposed to meet with the PAC for the proceeding on 1MDB’s investigation on October 29, but committee chairman Ronald Kiandee cancelled the session saying that the probe had been indefinitely suspended on the advice of the attorney-general, who has brought charges against Najib over the scandal.
The proceeding will be on for three days until Thursday.
Auditor-General Madinah Mohamad is scheduled to be called in to give her statements tomorrow, followed by former director of the National Audit Sector Saadatul Nafisah on December 6.
In her statement issued last month, Madinah confirmed that former prime minister Najib Razak had summoned Ambrin on February 22, 2016, and instructed that certain parts of the report be expunged.
She said a paragraph in the original report stating that fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho was present at a 1MDB board meeting was removed from the final report, and alleged that Najib’s former private secretary Shukri Mohd Salleh had ordered the removal of the paragraph on the grounds that it was a sensitive issue and to prevent it from being manipulated by the opposition.
The MACC said last week it was investigating the claims made by the auditor-general. – December 4, 2018.
