MCA today agreed to move for the dissolution of Barisan Nasional (BN) instead of leaving the pact.
The decision was reached at the party’s annual general meeting today.
MCA president Wee Ka Siong said the decision was made after taking into account of the current political scenario in the country.
He added that the resolution to dissolve BN was passed at 6.18pm and denied reports that delegates had staged a walkout at 2pm as a sign of protest against the resolution.
He said the AGM’s speaker had given all delegates the opportunity to discuss all issues brought up before a resolution was made.
“This is the first meeting where we had it closed door and we allowed our delegates and member to voice out anything they want,” Wee said.
The resolutions had five categories, which include party affairs, politics, government, economy and education.
Wee said the resolutions were made after listening to all delegates, in addition to 12 youths who were given the opportunity to debate.
He said only one individual disagreed with the resolutions but he did not know who.
Wee also did not specify which party MCA will work with on it’s resolution to forge an effective alliance.
Yesterday, MCA Youth had called for the party to dissolve BN and look for potential partners to start on a clean slate.
MCA deputy president Mah Hang Soon had also said the party will decide today whether it will stick with BN or push for the coalition’s dissolution. – December 2, 2018.

Why asking to dissolve the party? If DUMBO disagrees and keeps BN, dies that mean MCA will continue serving under BN?
Just bloody leave the party if you got the balls! Just like all the other coalitions like Gerakan, etc..
if you dont plan to leave, just shut your mouth and dont talk about it! No need to do wayang kulit!
