A GROUP of men vandalised the MCT Tower in Subang Jaya, Selangor, early today where the office of One City Development Sdn Bhd office is located.

One City Development is the developer embroiled in a legal tussle with the 147-year-old Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Subang Jaya.

The group shattered the glass doors on the ground floor. Police and the Federal Reserve Unit prevented the group from causing further damage.

Later, a van parked outside the building was torched. It was not known if the same group was involved in both incidents.

Last night, thousands of devotees gathered at the temple, the scene of an attack some 24 hours earlier when armed men stormed the temple. Several people were injured while 18 vehicles and two motorcycles were torched.

The attack at the MCT Tower started about 2am when a gathering at the temple ended. A group was then believed to have made their way to the MCT Tower some 2km away.

The temple committee and One City Development are fighting over the relocation of the house of worship.

An eyewitness, who declined to be named, said some 30 people were involved in today’s incident.

He said a Toyota Vellfire, five flash-card turnstiles, the reception counter, and several table and chairs were damaged.

“They used stones, signage and other items during the incident.”

The Subway restaurant at Sky Park Mall was also damaged.

The eyewitness said a Molotov cocktail might have been used to set the van ablaze at 6.30am.

“There was a strong smell of petrol coming from the van.”

He added that police at the scene this morning told those working in offices at the MCT Tower to stay away for the time being. – November 27, 2018.

  • One City Development should make a police report against these 50 thugs claiming to represent the developer in demanding at knife point the return of temple land at 2:00am in the morning if these thugs are not under their employ. The question then becomes engaged these armed thugs, considering some of them are not even local, and what is their real intent?
