Police hunt man who verbally assaulted beer promoter

POLICE are looking for a man who verbally assaulted a female beer promoter in a hypermarket recently in a video that had since gone viral on the internet.

A police source from the Ampang Jaya district police station said that police are investigating the matter.

“We are looking for the man in the video and currently the police are locating him,” the source said.

It is learnt that the investigation is under Section 509 of the Penal Code.

Earlier today, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng lodged a police report urging the cops to act swiftly in arresting the culprit.

The DAP man said that by arresting the suspect, it would put an end to the racial tension that occurred from the incident.

Facebook and Twitter went frantic today after the video was posted online.

It was allegedly posted by a man under the name of Edi Rejang.

In the 45-second video, a man was harassing the promoter about her race and religion and had asked why she had to promote the beer openly.

The female promoter replied that the beer was only given to non-Muslim customers.  

The video ended with the man showing the woman his “middle finger”.

Checks on Facebook showed that Edi Rejang’s account has been deactivated. – November 20, 2018.

    It is outrageous bullying to the promoter.
    Religious hypocrisy and righteousness on alcohol was revealed in the video.
    If not stopped, it will be more rampant.

Nobody asked this moron to go the Beer area. He wants to show how holy he is. Bcos of his inferior intellect, he uses religion to show he is superior.

  • If inspector twitter was the IGP, we would have weighted in and probably arrested the girl. What Edi Rejang did was plain wrong, insulting and humiliating whether it is in bumi Malay land, his own la la land or Malaysia Baru. If he feels so convicted to defend Allah on alcohol abuse, why is he hiding now?
