THE driver of a Toyota Hilux who ploughed into the open-air dining area of a Serdang restaurant and killed one diner has been arrested.
Serdang police chief Ismarid Borhan said the suspect was arrested at 1.43am.
He said the four-wheel-drive was found abandoned near Taman Universiti Indah, a few kilometres from the scene of the accident.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act,” he said in a statement today.
Police will apply to remand the suspect today and test his urine and blood.
In yesterday’s incident, a 57-year-old woman was killed and four others injured when the Hilux skidded and ploughed into the open-air section of a restaurant in Taman Equine.
The victims comprise a Vietnamese and four Malaysians. The injured were taken to Serdang Hospital. – November 19, 2018.
