PKR needs to address the problems which surfaced during the ongoing party elections and not be in denial, said its women chief, Zuraida Kamaruddin.
The vice-presidential candidate was commenting on the latest election fiasco yesterday, after the Kuala Selangor polling had to be cancelled because of internet problems.
Police discovered a telecommunications signal blocker in the area but PKR’s central election committee (JPP) has yet to act on the discovery.
“The (electronic voting) is jammed so that the system is down. So, it’s clear that it’s serious sabotage. The party elections are at a critical stage now,” she told reporters at Parliament lobby today.
Therefore, she urged the party to act before similar issues, such as internet problems and money politics, are repeated in Sabah and Sarawak.
The party must act without waiting for a report or complaint to be lodged.
“We are starting to sound like the BN government, where we have to wait for the report before taking action.
“It is very clear that the JPP has to be responsible for (issues faced in) this election. Whenever anything happens, you have to be proactive,” she said, commenting on the statement by JPP chief Dr Syed Husin Ali who said the committee has yet to receive any report on money politics. – October 29, 2018.
