FINANCE Minister Lim Guan Eng stood by his statement in the Dewan Rakyat earlier today that the Kelantan government lacked funds to pay the wages of its civil servants.
He said even former prime minister Najib Razak said the same earlier this year when he visited the state.
“It is true that the Kelantan government is not able to pay the wages.
“This has happened for a long time. Recently, I had also approved an allocation to help the Kelantan state government,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
Lim was responding to a demand from Takiyuddin Hassan (PAS-Kota Baru) that he (Lim) retract his statement which was an insult to the state. – October 22, 2018.
