TEN people were reported missing following a landslide this afternoon in Relau on Penang island.
The fire and rescue department, in a preliminary report, said 10 people and four containers were buried in the landslide in Jalan Paya Terubong, at the site of a project to build a road linking Paya Terubong and Relau.
The department estimates the landslide affected area to be nearly a hectare wide.
In a conflicting report, state welfare, caring community and environment exco Phee Boon Poh told media in a WhatsApp message that three people were killed and 12 more missing in the landslide incident in Bukit Kukus. – October 19, 2018.
