THE Education Ministry is looking to bring back TV Pendidikan (Educational TV) that can be accessed for free either on national television or online, said Maszlee Malik.

The Education Minister said that his ministry is currently developing its own content that can be shared online.

“It is easier to do it for online but everyone must have access to it.

“I’m also going to discuss with Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo on the possibility of having TV Pendidikan on RTM,” he said after officiating the smart school awards programme at Bukit Kiara today.

TV Pendidikan, produced by the Education Ministry between 1972 and 1998, showed programmes related to various school subjects.

Maszlee said that the ministry also intends to develop content for smartphones.

“The education ministry is also coming up with several educational Apps for smartphones.

“We also want to flood social media with educational content to build character (in the students)”.

Maszlee said that the aim is to gradually provide all the educational content by next year. – October 16, 2018.
