NAJIB Razak is being questioned over a fresh case related to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal, a source from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said.

The source told The Malaysian Insight that the former prime minister was expected to face more charges with this latest development.

“It is a fresh case and we are expecting to file new charges against him,” the source said without elaborating.

“The investigation is almost complete.”

Najib had already been slapped with 32 charges in relation to money laundering, corruption and abuse of power.

Earlier today, he was summoned again to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, where he is still being questioned.

His presence at the headquarters today marks the fifth time he has been questioned by the anti-graft body.

Najib, who was also former Umno president, has pleaded not guilty to all charges filed against him.

Apart from the MACC, Najib has also been questioned and charged by the police.
