THE media should cover issues more important than a photo of a barechested minister in the bath, said Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, youngest member of the Pakatan Harapan cabinet.
The youth and sports minister was responding to criticism of pictures of him undergoing cold water therapy shirtless in a bathtub.
Many Malaysians felt it was unbecoming of a minister to post such photos of himself on the internet.
“Cover more important issues. I think that’s better. The media should be more mindful in its reports,” an irate Syed Saddiq said today.
He was asked in Parliament if he he had removed his “bathtub” photo following criticism on social media.
Syed Saddiq, who turns 26 in December, had posted the photo on his Twitter and Instagram accounts last Saturday.
The photo showed him undergoing cold water therapy after a friendly football match in conjunction with Pari Sukan Negara.
