PKR going door to door to appeal to voters to come out, says Anwar

ANWAR Ibrahim said the Pakatan Harapan machinery has upped its game and was knocking on doors to get the people to come out and vote

“(The voter turnout) is lower than expected.  But we’re appealing to the voters directly. We’ll go to each village, each house and appeal to them to come out,” he said outside the SK Chuah polling centre.

The Election Commission pegged voter turnout at 40%, as of 1pm.

Anwar said one reason for the low turnout so far was because hotel and factory workers in the constituency were only free to vote after 2pm.

The PKR president-elect said he was confident there was still time to achieve the 70% voter turnout target.

“Of course (there’s time), there’s still about four hours to go. (Our) machinery is in the villages.  – October 13, 2018.
