Speed up probe into alleged Finas misappropriation, Gobind urges MACC

COMMUNICATIONS and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo today expressed hope that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will speed up its probe into the alleged misappropriation of RM25 million at the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).

He said this is to facilitate the ministry’s restructuring of Finas.

“I am not saying who is guilty. What matters is that there were complaints, and they are being investigated. We want to see the outcome of the investigations,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the Malaysia: A New Dawn investment forum in Kuala Lumpur.

He said he sent a letter to MACC on August 30, asking about the latest developments in the probe, and was informed on September 12 that the case was still under investigation.

MACC has said it will investigate allegations of misconduct and misappropriation of funds at Finas. – Bernama, October 9, 2018.
