A POLITICAL secretary to one of Sabah’s deputy chief ministers has lodged a police report after a video of two women accusing him and one other man of raping and abusing them went viral.
Raymond Ahuar has denied any wrongdoing, saying the video posted on social media was aimed at destroying his political career.
The state PKR Youth chief is an aide to Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Christina Liew, who is also the state’s tourism, culture and environment minister.
He is currently vying for the post of PKR Youth chief and a seat in the central party leadership in the ongoing party elections.
“I’m not accusing anyone, but I think rivals in the party polls should play clean and avoid using such tactics to win.
“I am leaving the matter to the police to investigate and identify these two women in the video and those who have caused it to go viral,” said Ahuar, adding that he had lodged the report at the Keningau Police Station on Friday, October 5.
The video shows two women claiming to be Indonesians who said they were invited by a man identified only as “Raden” and Ahuar for a one-week visit to Sabah.
The women allege that they were threatened with a gun and a samurai sword to submit to the men’s sexual demands, and were allowed to return home.
One of the women also said she was branded with a hot iron by their captors.
Ahuar said he first found out about the video through the Facebook account of one Terry Yongs, and that the video was later picked up the blog site Sabahkini2.
Keningau OCPD Ahmad Jawilla did not comment when contacted over the matter while Sabah Police Commissioner Omar Mammah said he will look into the matter after reports emerged that police had picked up the two women to facilitate investigations. – October 8, 2018.
