RAFIZI Ramli is closing in on incumbent Mohamed Azmin Ali in the race for the PKR deputy president post, with the latest unofficial results showing the former Pandan MP winning in Pahang.

The unofficial tally showed Rafizi winning 2,383 votes to Azmin’s 2,298 votes, a difference of only 85.

Voting in five states since party polls began on September 23 showed Azmin ahead by a mere 90 votes, taking into account votes that are undecided.

Last night, the election committee deputy chief Adzman Hedra told The Malaysian Insight that election results thus far have not been confirmed as it does not include votes that are still undecided.

It was reported that there were 1,100 undecided votes in Johor. The total number of undecided votes in Kelantan and Terengganu has yet to be announced.

A branch in Kelantan postponed its results due to technical issues in Machang.

Rafizi yesterday won in Kelantan and Terengganu, sweeping the two east coast states after lagging behind in Penang and Johor.

Just like the polls in the four states, the Pahang polls indicated a low voter turnout.

A total of 4,681 votes were received out of a total of 27,019 PKR members who were eligible to vote in the 14 branches in Pahang.

Rafizi won in eight branches – Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Cameron Highlands, Bera, Paya Besar, Jerantut, Maran, Rompin.

Azmin, meanwhile, took the Raub, Pekan, Kuala Krau, Kuala Lipis, Bentong and Temerloh branches.

Tomorrow, party members from the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan will vote. Malacca and Negri Sembilan will vote on October 20 while Perlis will have its turn the following day. – October 6, 2018.
