The Last Communist has been described by its director, Amir Muhammad, as a travel or semi-musical documentary that does not focus on Chin Peng, the head of the banned Communist Party of Malaya. – October 6, 2018.

THE Last Communist, banned 12 years ago by the now-ousted Barisan Nasional government, has yet to see the light of day in Malaysia.

  • Malaysia Communist Party fought along side our Malay Regiment and British against the Japanese during WW2. Emergency, declared when the communists were considered a threat to then Malaya ended in Hat Yai peace treaty in 1989. Whether Chin Peng was accorded a fair deal or not in 2013, Malaysia must move beyond stereotyping local chinese as communist and the enemy of the state at a time when Communist China is now our biggest trading partner.and we stand to gain much if we can change our mindset to embrace China as our strategic partner instead of a toxic ideology.

  • Lets get rid of the former governments unintelligent and downright blur decisions they made. Its time to unblock and let the people decide. Also fire the buggers who ban stuff just because. If they cannot furnish detailed argument for the banning...sack them!!!
