FORMER Upko Youth chief Arthur Sen has hit out at Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal for defending Wilfred Madius Tangau’s party hopping behaviour.

Sen said Shafie should clearly define Tangau’s move to abandon Barisan Nasional and support the the Warisan-Pakatan Harapan alliance a day after the 14th general election, if he is not being a “frog”.

“This is a matter of public and state interest and to improve the culture of Sabah politics and for our future generations to learn from.

“If not ‘frog politicking’, then what best to describe the move by Tangau?” he questioned.

At a Malaysia Day forum organised by Upko yesterday, Shafie said Tangau is not a political frog as alleged by his detractors, Free Malaysia Today reported.

Sen then said Shafie’s defence that Tangau did not ask for any position or projects does not hold water.

Tangau defected after the May 9 polls ended with a hung assembly in Sabah, with BN and Warisan-PH tied with 29 seats each.

Sabah Star, led by Jeffrey Kitingan, had aligned itself with BN, but this was countered by Upko leaving the coalition altogether, giving Warisan-PH a clear majority in the state assembly.

“Shafie should be a gentleman. His actions are as if he condones the actions of a backstabber.

“Instead, I find as if Shafie is insulting the intelligence of the people for defending Tangau,” he said.

PBS and Umno had also slammed Upko’s defection, calling Tangau a traitor who led to the collapse of BN in Sabah. – September 11, 2018.

  • PBS & DUMNO calling Warisan a traitor? Those parasites (PBS & DUMNO) gshould look at themselves and ask what damage they had done to the state all these up-teen years if not for Warisan saving the state and people from further deterioration..
