ATTACKS on Mohamed Azmin Ali’s camp have intensified, with Women exco candidate Faizah Ariffin openly condemning the PKR deputy president’s team.

Faizah, who is in Rafizi Ramli’s 20 Years of Reformasi camp, also did not spare Zuraida Kamaruddin, saying the Women wing chief’s time is up.

She said the PKR elections are the “end of the line” for Azmin’s “cartel”.

“We will make sure the cartel gets buried in the polls. There is longer room for them.

“The word ‘cartel’ refers to South American groups that control the drug trade. There is a cartel in the PKR leadership.

“We also want quality leaders in the Women wing, unlike Zuraida… we have given her enough time. All she knows about is getting projects,” she said the 20 Years of Reformasi programme in Negri Sembilan yesterday.

It was the programme’s second event, following one held in Johor the night before.

Among those present yesterday were Rafizi, central leadership council candidate Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.

Negri Sembilan has eight PKR divisions, and members totalling 37,000.

Faizah told other Pakatan Harapan components to support Anwar Ibrahim, who is poised to take over from Dr Mahathir Mohamad as prime minister.

“We are a dominant party in Parliament, and by right, one among us should be prime minister.

“However, following a consensus, Dr Mahathir was chosen as the seventh prime minister. We have done this, we have delivered on the promise, but another pledge made was for Anwar to be made the eighth prime minister.”

Without naming the individual, she said: “But look now, after being given power, he has dared to take advantage.”

Rodziah Ismail, a candidate for the No. 2 post in the Women wing, said the PKR elections should not divide members.

She said the polls aim to bring together leaders who want to ensure PKR remains a fair party with integrity.

Nik Nazmi said there are those in PKR acting like they are Umno members.

“We have no other choice but to ensure Anwar has a strong team. We want the best.

“We remember that there are quarters who are not certain whether to end ties with PAS, as they think that to win, they need cooperation with PAS, even though the Islamist party treats us like rubbish.

“Who, at the time, dared enough to make the decision for PH, if not for Kak Wan (Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) and Rafizi?

“Although there were attacks, today, those who had disagreed now hold important positions in the government, although their character reminds us of Umno and Barisan Nasional.” – August 12, 2018.

  • There will be no winners no matter who "wins" because PKR is split down the middle thanks to Satay Man.
