SABAH Umno member have lodged three police reports today over the controversial “pendatang” remark made by Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran last week.
Kota Kinabalu Umno Youth chief Abdul Aziz Julkarnain said the authorities must be fair and charge Kulasegaran for his alleged racial statements.
“This is sensitive and can disrupt racial harmony.
“On August 30, 2016, Isma president Abdullah Zaik was also fined under section 4(1) of the Sedition Act following the publishing of the article of ‘The coming of the Chinese with the British colonialists a form of intrusion’ on its website Ismaweb.
“There should be no discrimination among ministers and the people as all are equal eyes of the law. If the Isma president can be punished, why not Kulasegaran?” he said in a statement today.
Last week, Kulasegaran allegedly implied the Malays or Bumiputeras as “pendatang” at a function in a Negri Sembilan, last week.
Earlier, around 30 Sabah Umno members gathered at the Karamunsing police station to protest against Kulasegaran before lodging the police reports.
Sabah Umno Wanita chief Jainab Ahmad was also present at the protest. – July 30, 2018.
