PAKATAN Harapan’s crusade in cancelling or reviewing mega projects will reflect badly on the country and spook foreign investors, said former prime minister Najib Razak.

Najib said instead of blaming the previous Barisan Nasional government, the current administration should act more responsibly.

“What I hope is the government now does not take the approach of blaming everything on the previous government because they failed to deliver the promises in their manifesto.

“It is not necessary for them to cancel or review everything. If they do it in blanket, there will be uncertainty in the market. The current environment worries the people, investors and businessmen,” Najib told reporters when met at Parliament’s lobby today.

The former Umno president claimed that BN “handed over a strong government and economy” with low unemployment rates.

He warned that if Putrajaya keeps claiming that the national debt is over RM1 trillion, they would be scaring off investors.

“It will spook the market if you keep saying RM1 trillion debt and you can see negative foreign capital outflow every day except for two days in the 70 days of power. It is a caution that we might be shooting ourselves.

“Malaysia’s economy is an external economy, if whatever we do does not inspire global confidence, it will have an effect,” he said. – July 26, 2018.

  • Short term pains are better than long term sufferings. Majority of Rakyat supported PH because they knew this is the path to a better tomorrow. Nothing said by the opposition will tear PH apart. Everything said by the opposition is pure BS.
