Malaysians already regret voting for Pakatan, says Ahmad Maslan

MALAYSIANS are already regretting voting for Pakatan Harapan due to the implementation of the sales and services tax (SST), said an Umno lawmaker.

Former deputy trade and industry minister Ahmad Maslan said people had been promised that the goods and services tax (GST) would be abolished but instead was replaced by the SST.

“Malaysians will regret. People would have thought when there is no GST, there would be no tax at all.

“But when GST was zero-rated, SST will be introduced. The people are already regretting voting for them,” he told The Malaysian Insight today.

Ahmad was among those who were heavily criticised when GST was first implemented in 2015.

The Pontian MP said SST was a “regressive” tax which will increase the price of goods when it is introduced on September 1.

“SST is a regressive Tax. What will be done on September 1 will definitely raise the price of goods and living costs,” Ahmad said.

He also said it was a populist move to reintroduce the SST when the previous government adopted the GST as a more transparent and efficient tax system. – July 19, 2018.

Who are the Malaysians that this blockhead is talking about. In fact true Malaysians are happy that BN aka UMNO was kicked out.

  • Why isnt there a law to punish fools like him who uses the word "people" and "rakyat" at his whims. I am sure no sane Malaysian even want to be associated with this fool. Those who are associated with him are quite low in IQ that they dont even know whats going on. So someone should shut this irritating humans mouth for the benefit of Malaysia

    • Actually Najib's mouth should be "shut-ted" up is more like it. During this week's Parliament session, Najib's question to PH govt about the cost of HSR was "shut-ted" by YB Azmin Ali and you should see Najib's reaction sitting as his new opposition chair! LOL really lame as face there for Najib.

  • Ahmad, my advice to you is go down to the grassroots. For a start, go to the mamak stalls instead of frying rice in your kitchen. Then you will know what the Rakyat is talking. We are very supportive of PH and are prepared for the long haul, if not for the BIG cesspool your previous government has created.
