12-man prosecution team against Najib

ATTORNEY-GENERAL Tommy Thomas is leading a 12-man prosecution team in today’s proceedings, which are being covered worldwide.

They are:

* Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria

* Manoj Kurup

* Suhaimi Ibrahim

* Umar Saifuddin Jaafar

* Ishak Mohd Yusoff

* Donald Joseph Franklin

* Muhammad Saifuddin Hashim Musaimi

* Budiman Lufti Mohamed

* Sulaiman Kho Keng Fuei

* Mohd Ashrof Adrin Kamarul

* Muhammad Izzat Fauzan

In the dock is former prime minister Najib Razak, who is facing multiple charges in the scandal linked to state investor 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The lead defence counsel is believed to be Umno lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, who visited Najib last night at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission lock-up in Putrajaya.

Lawyers, Geethan Ram Vincent and K. Kumaraendran, are holding a watching brief for Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, who was also earlier questioned by the MACC. – July 4, 2018.
