THE Irrigation and Drainage Department said floods were expected in Kulai, Johor Baru and Pontian from 11am to 5pm today.

Its National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre in a statement said this after the Meteorological Department forecasted continuous heavy rain earlier today.

The advisory said floods were expected in Kulai’s Kampung Sungai Siam and Kampung Murni Jaya; Johor Baru’s Kampung Dagang, Kampung Laut and Kampung Pasir; and Pontian’s Kampung Paya Embun.

“Other areas not mentioned in this monsoon flood warning are advised to take precautionary measures.

“This alert was issued to enable all residents, especially those in potentially affected areas, to remain vigilant and adhere to authorities’ instructions,” the centre said. – Bernama, January 7, 2024.
