NEGRI Sembilan’s new executive councillors will be sworn in before Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir tomorrow.

State Secretary Mohd Zafir Ibrahim in a statement today said the swearing-in ceremony and presentation of appointment letters will begin at 9am at Istana Besar Seri Menanti.

The Menteri Besar’s Office said a press conference on the appointments will be held at 5pm tomorrow after the first executive council meeting at Wisma Negeri.

Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional formed the state government after winning 17 and 14 seats, respectively, in the August 12 local polls, while Perikatan Nasional took five seats.

Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun reportedly said the state government may rename certain executive council portfolios to align them with federal government posts. – Bernama, August 23, 2023.
