THE Road Safety Campaign and Aidiladha Special Operation 2023 is focusing on the importance of installing child seats, said Deputy Transport Minister Hasbi Habibollah.

He said this is following statistics released by police, which revealed that 1,252 deaths of children aged 10 and below in road crashes were recorded between 2012 and 2021.

“We are targeting families with children as this campaign focuses on child seats and also the use of seatbelts.

“We hope this campaign can spread awareness, especially to parents with small children, about the importance of using child seats regardless of driving distance … to reduce the death rate caused by crashes in this country,” he told reporters after distributing safety leaflets to road users at the Gombak toll plaza today. – Bernama, June 26, 2023.
