MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Azam Baki will meet Transport Minister Anthony Loke to discuss “ignored” misconduct reports involving a department under Loke’s ministry.

“We are ready to cooperate and have prepared a detailed explanation on the issue,” Azam said when met at Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusoff’s open house at Sri Satria in Putrajaya today.

Azam had previously revealed several government agencies have been ignoring reports of misconduct involving their staff, despite the MACC recommending that they address the problems.

He said 553 misconduct reports, some of which were submitted 12 years ago, have yet to be tackled by department heads.

On Tuesday, Loke said he would meet Azam to seek an explanation over the matter, adding that he would not compromise on issues of misconduct within his ministry. – Bernama, May 11, 2023.
