SEVERAL areas in the Klang Valley and a few states in the peninsula have been hit by power outages this afternoon. 

According to complaints by Internet users, the affected areas in the Klang Valley are in Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Bangi, Selayang, Cheras and Bandar Sunway. 

It is believed that the blackout was caused by a heavy thunderstorm that hit the area earlier today. 

Blackouts were also reported in Kedah, Pahang, Negri Sembilan, Perak and Penang. 

In a brief response, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) said it is working to repair the problem and trying to identify the cause.

“There are electricity cuts in several areas and TNB is in the midst of identifying the problem. Our technicians are on the ground fixing the issue.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” it said. – July 27, 2022.
