JELUTONG MP R.S.N Rayer said he is resting at home after he was discharged from hospital today following a car crash yesterday.

“Yes, I am back home now,” said the lawmaker in a WhatsApp message to The Malaysian Insight.

“The hospital has given me medical leave for five days.”

The DAP man was involved in an accident in Batang Kali, Selangor, yesterday morning.

He was on his way to participate in the Walk for Judicial Independence in Kuala Lumpur when the crash occurred, according to reports. He suffered minor injuries.

He was then rushed to hospital for treatment.

Hulu Selangor police chief Arsad Kamaruddin in a statement yesterday said the 8.55am crash occurred when the Toyota Alphard carrying Rayer, the driver and four other passengers hit the back of a Ford Kuga after both vehicles changed lanes to avoid a big object on the road.

“All received treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital. The case is being investigated under regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for negligent driving.”

Arsad urged anyone with information on the crash to contact police for further action. – June 18, 2022.
