YOUTH party Muda’s decision to contest in Larkin against PKR is a show of disrespect towards the spirit of unity of the opposition in the Johor polls, said Johor PKR leader Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh.

He said Muda’s action is contradictory to the opposition’s stance of fighting enemies together.

“I understand that this action was due to failed seat negations between Muda and PKR.

“However this action has only made things worse and is akin to handing a victory to the opponent,” Ibrahim said in a statement today.

Yesterday, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman announced the party will field Rasid Abu Bakar in Larkin. PKR is fielding Zamil Najwah Arbain in the same seat.

Muda is also fielding Nurafiqah Zulkifli in Bukit Kepong, Azrol Rahani in Bukit Permai, R. Sangaran in Machap, Fikri Musa in Parit Raja, Amira Aisya Abd Aziz in Puteri Wangsa and Lim Wei Jiet in Tenang.

Out of the seven seats it is contesting, six were given to it by Amanah and DAP.

Last week, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim said his party will back Muda candidates only if the party respects the “no-contest” condition among Pakatan Harapan-friendly parties.

Ibrahim said PKR will not be going down the same road as Muda as it respects Amanah and DAP.

“This is not a smart move, and it will be ridiculed by the voters who are already sick of the constant power struggle.

“Muda has until February 26 to reconsider its actions,” he said. – February 25, 2022.

  • PKR has also insulted the opposition by not using the Harapan flag. May this Johor state election teach PKR a good lesson.

  • Seriously! Sort yourselves out and get off your high horses. BN will win again because the opposition splits the vote.
