Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim says ‘very poor’ turnout at the polling stations today makes it difficult to work out Pakatan’s chances of winning the Malacca elections. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, November 20, 2021.

“VERY poor” voter turnout in the Malacca election is making it difficult for PKR and Pakatan Harapan to assess their chances, Anwar Ibrahim said.

“Normally by 1pm, it (the turnout in any election) should have exceeded 50%.”

However, turnout at polling stations in Malacca at 1pm was only 43%.

The PKR president and Port Dickson MP said based on messages had been receiving, turnout was very poor and it was difficult to gauge any outcome based on reactions from the people.

“The people, they are polite. Too kind.

“Very difficult for us to assess (from that).

“No sharp, raucous exchange (between PKR and the people).”

Anwar added the standard operating procedure (SOP) on campaigning made it more difficult to make any assessment. – November 20, 2021.

  • Come on! The outcome was sealed the moment you made that unholy alliance with the frogs. You made a wrong move and as the head, you need to take full accountability.

  • After Malacca debacle I'm not sure if Anwar is the right guy to lead the battle in Sarawak. Time to retire mate and let someone else lead the opposition. Anyone else besides Lim Guan Eng.
