Got a pothole in your neighbourhood? Call the minister or mayor

Federal Territories Minister Shahidan Kassim says Kuala Lumpur residents may call himself, the deputy minister or the mayor on their phones to report incidences of potholes in the city. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, October 7, 2021.

KUALA Lumpur residents can now call the Federal Territories Minister, his deputy or the city mayor directly if there are potholes in the city.

“YB, can call me at 019-4545111 or my deputy at 019-6524444 or the KL mayor at 016-2068883,” said Shahidan Kassim during his winding-up speech for the 12th Malaysia Plan in Dewan Rakyat today.

“Those who are visiting KL and stumble upon hazardous potholes can call us and we will take action within 24 hours. We want to be the best for Malaysia,” said the Arau MP as lawmakers cheered him on.

Shahidan’s deputy is Jalaluddin Alias (Jelebu-BN) while the KL mayor is Mahadi Che Ngah.

Shahidan was responding to P. Prabakaran (Batu-PH) who asked what was being done about the potholes in the city.

“For your information, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall is continuously monitoring the conditions of roads, especially those near construction sites, main roads and central business districts to ensure they are paved and maintained.

“After having discussion with the City Hall and based on the latest order issued, any complaint or information must be acted upon immediately within 24 hours. – October 7, 2021.
