THE Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) and the police will be setting up a task force to investigate the sale of Covid-19 vaccines and vaccine appointments by unauthorised parties, said Khairy Jamaluddin.

“I have spoken to the police and they are setting up a special team with CITF to investigate such claims.

“We take this seriously and have asked the police to act quickly and apprehend anyone who claims to be selling vaccines and vaccine appointments,” he said at a joint conference with Health Minister Dr Adham Baba at Putrajaya.

Khairy, who is the coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, said the CITF secretariat had also lodged several police reports over such claims.

Last week, Kuala Lumpur police arrested three people for allegedly selling Covid-19 vaccines without government authorisation.

On Monday, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Abd Jalil Hassan said an advertisement selling Covid-19 vaccines on social media sites was a scam. – June 30, 2021.
