THE remand for Parti Warisan Sabah vice-president Peter Anthony has been extended for another four days.
Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abby extended his remand after his three-day remand expires today.
Anthony was seen arriving at the magistrate court in Kota Kinabalu at 8.30am but was transferred to the magistrate chambers around 9.15am.
According to his lawyer Martin Tommy, Anthony’s health has worsened since he was detained.
“He is not in a good condition and not doing well.
“However the prosecution has succeeded in extending his remand for another four more days,” he said.
Anthony had undergone medical check-up before going for his remand last week, but he had also been hospitalised before.
Anthony also checked into a hospital while in detention on October 5 last year in MACC’s investigation of the alleged embezzlement of RM1.5 billion in federal funds meant for rural projects in Sabah.
He is presently on bail from the previous case.
On January 3, MACC had issued a notice searching for Anthony along with a lawyer, Martin Ubu, after the commission opened up a case on the RM155 million Risda land deal. – January 8, 2018.
