PARTI Warisan Sabah vice-president Peter Anthony has left the Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commissin office in Kota Kinabalu, hours after he had earlier presented himself today to the graft agency to answer questions on a land purchase.
It is unclear if he has been detained, but Anthony was seen leaving the building at 1.20pm, handcuffed and escorted by MACC officers after being questioned for about three hours.
Anthony said he was heading to his house in Luyang as MACC officers planned to search his home.
“We are heading to my beautiful house,” he told reporters.
Earlier, his lawyer, Martin Tommy and Warisan secretary general Loretto Padua were seen leaving the MACC office separately before Anthony came out.
Anthony has been under several MACC investigations. On October 5 last year, he was remanded by MACC to assist in the commission’s probe into the alleged embezzlement of federal funds earmarked for rural projects in Sabah. – January 5, 2017.
