MALAYSIANS can turn the impossible to the possible if they work together to flatten the curve of Covid-19 infections, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said as the country reports its second highest daily cases.
The Health Director-General said the spike in cases lately was an indication of a new wave of infection.
“However, the onus is on us on whether we can flatten the curve,” he said in his weekly press conference.
He also recalled how Malaysia managed to beat the projection of research house JP Morgan, which anticipated infections to peak in mid-April.
The Movement Control Order was imposed on March 18 to slow the rise in infections.
“It is up to us now. We have done it before and we can do it again.
“We have the experience now as compared to March but we need the collaboration of each and every one of us so that we can comply with SOPs.” he said.
Malaysia reported 260 new cases today, of which only one was imported.
Today’s numbers were the second highest since the onset of the virus in January and the highest since the start of the recovery movement-control order on June 9. – October 1, 2020.
