Slow registration of Pakatan is because Najib is afraid to lose, says Dr Mahathir

THE reluctance by the Registrar of Society to recognise the opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan (PH) shows that Prime Minister Najib Razak fears a united opposition front.

PH chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the delays and inaction might as well be construed as an outright rejection of the right of the opposition coalition to contest.

“Najib is afraid to lose,” said Dr Mahathir in his blog post chedet.cc today.

“Afraid of the opposition parties that have just joined forces, which he has tried to prevent from happening.”

“As a result, the formal registration of this coalition has yet to be approved despite the application being made months ago.

“It is easy. The coalition is not approved officially. Neither is it rejected officially. There is no answer whether it is approved or not. Just no answer. Under consideration. Yet to be approved is no different from having the application rejected.

“The RoS does not respond to letters. Awaiting the minister. The minister has gone missing. He’s there, but he isn’t. Unable to reply.”

“A month, two months, a quarter-year, half-a-year. No answers. No rejections. Just no replies,” Dr Mahathir added. 

PH’s application to be recognised as a formal coalition has been in limbo since it submitted its application to RoS on July 24.

Yesterday, director-general of RoS Surayati Ibrahim said there remained issues regarding PH components Bersatu and DAP.

She said Bersatu has yet to hold an annual general meeting, as required by party’s constitution.

DAP’s issue concerns its central executive committee (CEC) re-elections on November 12, which RoS has yet to receive a full report.

“It might be approved five minutes before Parliament is dissolved,” wrote Dr Mahathir, referring to PH’s registration as a coalition in the 14th general election, which must be held August. 

“This, there will be trouble for the opposition coalition. Logo and symbol which are not recognised by the public, by the voters. Then they will be confused when they vote.

“It is Najib’s hope that the voters would not be able to vote for the opposition coalition. Najib’s hope that BN does not lose. But BN will lose.

“The people are not stupid. They know everything. They know Najib swindled billions from 1MDB. They know RM2.6 billion entered into his private account at AmBank.

“They know that Felda money, KWSP (Employees Provident Fund) money, KWAP (the Retirement Fund Inc) money, Tabung Haji money has gone missing.” – November 21, 2017.

    • So blaming Madhatir in all the miseries. We know he is the cause but why keep on harping on it without contributions to correct the wrongs except bla bla bla.......Where do we go from here???? At least he is challenging the one perpetuating his wrongs. Are we myopically in our line of sight by carrying on our stupidity to flagellate the old fox when he can be put to good use to make amends on all the ills and move forward. Some of the Malaysian Rakkyat should really get a grip and start to think rationally. Ask yourselves how long more he has his time and how long more do you think you can enjoy crying over his misdeeds. There is no buy back in all that. If the rakyat turn around and show support to this old man in all his efforts to rid off UmnnoBN,, it sure do strike fear and cause a mass swith over to PH . After that what you guys want to deal with the old man , I think he is least concern about it as his final assignement is completed.

    • Though we wish to get rid of UMNO/BN ...... are we to to forget the misdeeds of the old UMNO/BN and its leaders just because they are now in the opposition? No!!!! This is to remind the politicians (especially the young and upcoming) the rakyat want clean, upright, fair, etc, leaders on BOTH sides, whether BN or PH ....... and NOT that just because the politicians are in PH, we will turn a blind eye ........ otherwise PH politicians sooner or later will become just as bad as UMNO/BN ...... Of course we may vote PH but it doesn't mean we will forget the !@#$ Tun had done!

    • On a related matter ...... the previous Selangor MB and his exco publicly declared their assets whereas the current exco REFUSED ..... Should we think its alright (and not be suspicious) just because its PH? ...@#$%^&!!! ....
