Govt launches Covid-19 fund

THE government today launched Covid-19 Fund with a grant of RM1 million to aid those affected by the epidemic.

The fund, seeking contributions from Malaysians, will benefit people under home surveillance and quarantine for 14 days.

It will also assist people undergoing treatment and registered with the Health Ministry after testing positive for Covid-19.

People who do not have a salary or fixed income during the home surveillance or treatment process will receive aid of RM100 a day.

The private sector, volunteer bodies and people are encouraged to contribute to the fund for the welfare of those affected by the epidemic.

There have been 129 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Malaysia, of which 25 have recovered and been discharged.
