PAKATAN Harapan is planning roadshows to explain to the public what transpired behind the collapse of its government, its leaders said.

Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub said PH will be holding a meeting tomorrow to strategise its next moves, following the change of government to one comprising Bersatu, Barisan Nasional and PAS, with Muhyiddin Yassin as the new prime minister.

“We will have a roadshow (and) we will have ceramah (talks). For all this, we will get permits from the police,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

The former agriculture and agro-based industry minister said the roadshows will begin as soon as possible.

“We could start with a big one, maybe in the city and then we will move around throughout the country.

“I think the war is not over yet. I think we are on the right track because they robbed our victory and I think we have to move forward with all channels within the constitution,” he said.

The Pulai MP also hopes that supporters will be patient and wait for clear instructions from PH and not react to provocative or fake news.

“I am quite worried that this government led by Muhyiddin will be portrayed as a ‘Melayu-Islam government’ and PH on the other side will be branded as a coalition led by non-Muslims.”

He said playing up sentiments along racial and religious lines will be dangerous for the country.

PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said PH lawmakers have to go back to their constituencies to explain the political crisis to voters.

PH MPs must also reiterate their stand against forming a government that includes the “kleptocratic Barisan Nasional regime”.

“These are the facts that need to be relayed,” Shamsul said.

“The roadshow will explain to the rakyat what really happened and our rejection of attempts to topple the government.”

Shamsul said voters who gave PH the mandate to form the government have the right to know what happened. – March 1, 2020.

  • No no no. How many roadshows and demonstrations and rallies have the people participated in? You mess it up and we have to go to the streets to show the world you have our support? What did the people get for their troubles? You snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. You did that. Go fix it yourself.
