IGP laments countries’ refusal to help bring back Jho Low

INSPECTOR-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador expressed disappointment over a lack of cooperation from foreign authorities in helping to bring back fugitive financier Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low.

“A few countries had refused to acknowledge his existence. We know where he has been going.

“We have details, documents and records of his travels but some countries said he is not there,” he said after attending a handing over of duties ceremony at the Bukit Aman headquarters today.

It was reported in September, that Abdul Hamid hoped to bring Jho Low back by the end of the year to help in investigations into a multi-billion-dollar scandal at 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Hamid said he will not give up hope, and promised to work hard to bring Low back by the end of the year.

“We will continue to exert our efforts to catch him. We won’t keep quiet until we get him and his family, who have stolen from our country.

“We want to get back all the properties and money,” he added. – December 23, 2019.

  • Send a few high integrity and dignity policemen abroad to locate him with picture of his whereabout. With picture/video evidence, sure foreign authority can't deny hid existence. What IGP said does not sound rational and logical?

  • Maybe you should send Zakir Naik to India. Malaysia repatriated so many people protected by UNHRC regardless of their international obligations ( a recent Turkish family was sent back to Turkey for persecution, although protected by UN) . Malaysia has lost its credibility. Indian wants Zakir Naik for serious crimes but he is given refuge here-another Indian Muslim.
